Maraisthon - La course marathon

The Race

1st marathon race nature, international and non-elitist, in one of the most beautiful French village, Coulon, and in a natural and rare environment.

A different marathon from the others, combining Sport, Nature and Tourism.

An original, genuine and ecological, for runners and the people who support them.

A marathon which is part of an environmental approach about sustainable development and which focuses on complying with a Nature Charter.

100 runners expected (plus 2 000 accompanying people, plus the spectators and casual tourists).

 

Number

Subject to availability.

Open to runners (man and woman) from 18 years old (born in 1992).

33 € (*) with the Pasta Party on Friday night. (musical event and magician performance) in two typical restaurants in the Marais Poitevin.

23 € (*) without the Pasta Party.

Accompanying people : Pasta Party 10 € (6 € until 12 years old). Reservation required.

(*) 1 € for each runner will be transferred to the GERES Association, for the carbon compensation (www.co2solidaire.org).

Including :

The ITS chronometric chip ITS.

The angelica medallion made by a master confectioner.

The angelica plant with its recyclable pot and a worksheet for cultivating.

A ride in a small boat in the middle of the Venise Verte.

La Maison Du Marais visit (Museum).

Clothes outlet with the safekeeping at the start and at the finish of the marathon.

Cancellation insurance with refund for the number, after deduction of 4 € with medical certificate for the runner or for a close relative death.

Timetable

  • Friday 18th June 2010, 4 pm to 9 pm

  • Saturday 19th June (race day), 6:30 am to 8 am

For Saturday morning, please plan and pay special attention to the post time of the Marathon (9 am).

 

The number will be individually hand over to everyone on site (no postal sending) on presentation of proof of identity.

A special authorization for image rights will be demanded for each runner at the moment of the number reclaim

 

Pratical terms

Start 9 a.m. (maximum time : 5h30) Autremont’s parking.

Finish on the Autremont’s parking

Scratch ranking and by categories.

Couse assessed by a federal officer CHS.

Organization terms :

  • 2 loops course

  • Tree-shaded course, flat, with catwalks.

  • Medical aid on the race and at the finish with doctors and physical therapists.

  • 4 supplying stations.

  • 4 sponging stations.

  • Toilets at the 10th, 17th, 22nd, 32nd and 38th km.

  • Transit time : at the semi-marathon

  • Marking at each kilometre

  • Stopwatch with microchip.

  • Totally secured course.

  • Bikes strictly prohibited on the course.

  • Accompanying people will be allowed to go meet the runners on the course thanks to 11 km’s walk.

  • Shower-rooms and changing room : at the football stadium, 200 m on foot from the finish.


Prizegiving (3:30 p.m. on the Autremont’s parking)

Rewards : (no cumulative)

  • The top 3 runners, men and women at the scratch ranking (value : 300€, 200€, 100€)

  • The top 3 veterans, men and women 1/2/3/ (value : 200€, 150€, 100€).

The Maraisthon Trophy, made by a chocolate maker master for the 1st man and for the 1st woman.

8 numbers will be randomly drawn and they will win regional, natural or organic products.

  • An assortment of regional products (wine, cognac, Pineau, mojettes from the Marais, Chabichou…)

  • A complete sports equipment’s collection.

  • Regional tourism products (such as bike week end in nature, sailing and hiking)

With 4 special gifts :

  • The Maraisthon Trophy made by a chocolate maker master for a masculine number and a feminine number.

  • A selected olive tree with a prestige olive oil bottle among the worldwide best one … for a masculine and a feminine number.
